The trip started from the city of Sabratha on Monday night, 09/23/2024. The boat capsized before dawn on Tuesday. Some people were rescued on Wednesday evening. The rescued group was handed over to the Zuwara port prison. One of the workers at the Zuwara port prison handed the passport of the woman and her granddaughter who was with her to one of their relatives who was rescued. Note that the woman was carrying the passports in a waterproof bag around her neck.
