He speaks Kurdish and Arabic. He has three brothers: Hussein, Ali, and Hassan. Six sisters, two of whom are disabled. His father passed away in 2010. He was a first-year student in the psychology department at Homs University, and he failed. His ID is broken, but he has a recent receipt for a new ID from the civil registry in Ras al-Ain, Al-Hasakah. He traveled from Aleppo to Homs to register at the university wearing a brown fur-lined jacket. The next day, we received a call from the political security branch in Homs saying that there was a similarity in names and that he would be released. We went back to the branch mentioned, but they denied his presence. According to students, he was initially arrested by university union students. Some Facebook pages mentioned his presence in Sednaya prison, and people who were released mentioned seeing him in Sednaya when his name and picture were mentioned.
